David Knight
David is a Chartered Transport Planner who holds the Transport Planning Professional qualification and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and a Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation. He became a director of the NRP traffic and transportation team in 2022.
An industry recognised leader he has over 30 years’ experience in development transport planning, working on major residential, education, health, commercial and leisure projects for private and public sector clients. He is an expert in sustainable transport policy and planning with over 20 years’ experience of travel planning initiatives.
He is currently completing a PhD at Loughborough University, studying Transport Planning in large scale housing developments with a focus on Sustainable Accessibility. He has spoken at numerous UK and European conferences on transport planning topics, has run training courses with Symmonds Madge, Aldercross and PTRC and has lectured at Surrey University and University of West of England.
