NRP Champions Diversity at Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation EDI Charter Event: Pioneering Inclusivity in Highways & Transportation

In February 2024, our People & Talent Manager, Hend Halim and Digital Marketing Coordinator, Yulia Tokke had the privilege of attending the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) EDI Charter Signatory Event. Hend and Yulia were key facilitators in the workshop discussions, where they shared insights and spearheaded conversations on enhancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion with our company and the broader highways, transportation and construction industry.

For the first time CIHT brought their EDI signatories together for the purpose of learning and educating on different approaches to shifting the dial on EDI in the highways and transportation industry.

The events speakers from Kier Transportation, Graham Group and BAME Planners Network shared their unique practices which help them promote EDI in their organisations as well as overall in the industry.

The event served as more than just a source of knowledge; it was a poignant reminder of the immense progress we can achieve together in cultivating inclusive workplaces. It underscored the profound impact of EDI within the highways and transportation sector, highlighting its ripple effects across the industry. We passionately believe that embracing EDI is not merely an option but a necessity in shaping an industry that’s not only forward-thinking and adaptable but also ethically accountable.
