The West End Project won Pineapple 2024 Award for Best Public Space!

We are absolutely thrilled and immensely proud of the incredible transformation West End Project has brought to the community. This recognition not only highlights the success of the project but also celebrates the commitment of the entire team in creating a vibrant, accessible, and improved public space that benefits all who experience it. The project not only revitalised a crucial part of central London but also significantly enhanced the daily experience for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

The West End Project, with an investment of £35 million, represents the largest public realm initiative ever undertaken by the London Borough of Camden. It has revitalised 3.5 kilometers of central London, including New Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road, and Shaftesbury Avenue. The project’s goal is to enhance the community experience by balancing development needs with efforts to reduce traffic dominance, thereby creating a more pedestrian-friendly environment that fosters social interaction, supports local businesses, and improves overall quality of life. Additionally, it emphasises sustainability and environmental responsibility by incorporating green spaces, promoting eco-friendly transportation options, and utilising sustainable materials, all of which contribute to a healthier and more resilient urban ecosystem.
