norman rourke pryme were appointed for the refurbishment and conversion of six floors of offices in Trafalgar Square into four luxury apartments and a penthouse duplex, including a janitored reception and basement storage and plant areas. A high quality finish was achieved with bespoke kitchen fittings and integrated appliances, granite worktops, bespoke joinery cupboards and fitted furniture, bathroom units with marble tiling, etc. It was a requirement that all external windows and sliding doors were to achieve high acoustic performance.

The project also involves the removal of all existing roof plant and roof structure with the construction of new 5th and 6th floor steel framed structure. The ground floor tenants, Pret A Manger, were to remain in operation throughout the project, including the maintenance of their fire escape routes.

The project was managed using three separate contracts; enabling works, structural works and main fit out works using JCT contracts, including the integration of the AV installation contract and interior designer works to provide the delivery of early marketing suites.

Due to the location of the project there were applicable restrictions for deliveries,working conditions and the 2012 Olympics imposed by the local authority.

The penthouse also won the Evening Standard 2014 New Homes best apartment
