NRP delivered a £25 million new build 520-room student accommodation project on time for 2019/2020 student intake, on behalf of L&UK Property, under an Employers Agent and Cost Consultant role.
The project comprised the demolition of several semi-derelict buildings and subsequent remediation and decontamination on a f ormer industrial site, located on the edge of Birmingham City Centre and sat directly adjacent to the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal.
The scheme blends a mixture of high-quality cluster flats and studios, combined with two south facing courtyards and co-living amenity space, including a café, laundry, gym, cinema room, convenience store and communal study rooms.
Designed by Steve Ritchie Partnership Ltd and built by D W Hicks Building Co Ltd, Globe Works was constructed over 3 interconnecting steel framed blocks with brown roofs, pre-insulated brick cladding and cassette floors, stepping in height to 9-storeys at the corner of Cliveland Street and New Town Row.
Globe Works is a striking addition to Birmingham’s thriving and historic Gun Quarter and NRP are proud to have been part of this prestigious project.
