Enabling works, demolition and retention of existing historic walls and buildings
This scheme focussed on the regeneration and redevelopment of an existing derelict and decaying historic industrial site to create 56 dwellings comprising 2 & 3 bedroom houses and 1 & 2 bedrooms apartments.
The works involved an initial extensive enabling works contract comprising the removal of contaminates, demolition and retention of existing historic walls and buildings adjacent to a Network Rail main line.
Extensive party wall and boundary wall repairs with additional structural supports were also undertaken together with part retention and re-construction of several significant historical buildings within the site.
The site was designated a World Heritage Status site and required the sympathetic retention and redevelopment / conversion of existing buildings and historical features alongside the new build 56 dwellings.
The transformation has created much needed homes, a sustainable community and is a shining example of what can be achieved by determination of organisations working closely together.
