Gordon Square has been transformed from a quiet and under-utilised section of road into a welcoming public space.
This space is now enjoyed by students, professors and visitors, located between University College London (UCL) and Gordon Square Park, the area presented an opportunity to create a lively community hub.
For this project NRP offered a range of services; cost consultancy, project management and traffic engineering, We also delivered stakeholder liaison and coordinated the legal agreement between UCL and London Borough of Camden to allow these works to take place.
This project has transformed the road in front of the Institute of Archaeology, which has been closed to traffic. To promote active travel, our team designed a two-way cycle lane for safe and easy cycling through the area and to UCL.

Project ManagementAs part of our stakeholder engagement, we understood the needs for a new public space aimed to enhance community interaction and create a tranquil environment. Including seating, bike parking, table tennis tables and a small platform for exhibitions.

The Gordon Square public space features sustainable furniture as well as biodiverse planting that incorporates habitats for pollinating insects.
