Dr David Knight - Director

David is a Chartered Transport Planner with 33 years’ experience working on consultancy projects in the private and public sectors.

David has led and managed many projects across his main disciplines of Sustainable Travel and Transport and Development Planning. He has completed a PhD at Loughborough University, studying Transport Planning in large scale housing developments with a focus on Sustainable Accessibility and has been working on Sustainable Transport and Travel Planning projects since the mid 1990’s.

He was an appointed adviser on the Government’s Travel Plan Site Specific Advice scheme between 2001 and 2006, and has led the development of numerous travel plans for a wide variety of organisations and land uses. This has included both the planning and implementation stages. He has advised on best practice travel plans and has undertaken a number of commissions forx Transport for London including co-authoring guidance, developing tools and auditing development travel plans submitted in support of planning applications. He has run PTP projects and has provided LSTF related training.

David has run a number of regular training courses approved by CIHT and has previously lectured in Demand Management and spoken at conferences in the UK and Europe. He holds the Consultation Institute’s Certificate of Professional Competence and has run a number of engagement exercises. He was formerly a Director of ACT and Sowton TMA. He is a member of CIHT’s Sustainable Transport Panel.
