Gaja is a civil and environmental engineer. She completed a BEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering and studied for her MEng in Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Bari, Italy and graduated in November 2014.
Gaja’s role involves assisting in the delivery of transportation engineering related projects, mainly involving traffic engineering concept/feasibility design and traffic modelling, using appropriate design guidance and software.
Gaja is widely experienced in the application of traffic design and modelling, covering all road user groups. She is experienced in specifying, organising and undertaking detailed measurements of traffic behaviour in order to obtain data for model calibration/validation. She is an expert user in producing spatial and numerical GIS outputs for different types of data analysis. She is a proficient user of AutoCAD and has key skills required to develop traffic scheme concept/feasibility designs.
Most recently, Gaja has developed concept/feasibility scheme designs for projects within central London for walking and cycling schemes developed as part of the Active Travel Fund initiative. The schemes were implemented successfully throughout 2020 and she is now working on a programme for permanent infrastructure design.
