Bond Street RTPI Awards – Bond Street Revitalisation

NRP were finalists for the RTPI’s ‘Excellence in Planning for a Successful Economy’ award for 2019. On 24th April, over 500 built environment professionals celebrated the outstanding contribution that planning professionals make to society at the RTPI’s Awards for Planning Excellence in central London.

NRP were nominated for their contribution to the Bond Street Public Realm Improvement Project for Westminster City Council. The revitalisation of Bond Street prioritises pedestrians, enhances character and celebrates heritage, creating a public realm for all users, to match its international reputation.

NRP’s transport engineering team, led by Thomas Rimmer, have led the operational design of the scheme and accompanying traffic modelling assessment. The project was approved by Westminster City Council and Transport for London and constructed in late 2018. NRP continue to be involved in the post-implementation modelling and best practice guidance as a result of the schemes success.

Bond Street has been nominated for at least three technical awards to date including the ‘CIHT’s Making Better Places’ and ‘The Planning Awards 2019’.
