norman rourke pryme were appointed by Star Alliance for project management and cost consultancy services in connection with the relocation of the various airline members into an “Airside” CIP Departures lounge in Terminal One (T1) at Heathrow Airport. The project comprised the demolition and removal of the previous tenant lounge, the replacement of the existing mechanical equipment, the reconnection and commissioning to existing BAA plant and the construction of the lounge facility to a high quality standard.
norman rourke pryme interfaced and managed the ‘Star’ team, ‘Star’ airline members, BAA commercial, contractual and IT divisions, and the Lead Carrier and their legal representatives. The construction of these facilities was executed under an extremely tight timescale of approximately 12 weeks for the Departures Lounge driven by BAA overall refurbishment programme for the development of Heathrow airport. Airline carriers involved in the CIP departures lounge relocation were United Airlines, Lufthansa, BMI, South African Airways, New Zealand Airlines, TAP Portugal, Croatian Airlines, Air New Zealand, SWISS, LOT Polish Airlines and Austrian Airlines.
